Today I came in at three o’clock for my Wednesday shift and today we were supposed to have our VFW League tonight, which has 80 participants. However, we had some thunderstorms pop up starting at two o’clock, where it just poured for about half an hour. That left the course rather wet in some areas, but was definitely still playable for the guys in the league. However, more rain popped at about 3:30 just half an hour before they were supposed to tee off and it poured for a solid half an hour. After the rain stopped the league decided to cancel since the course was in such bad shape, so I made about ten rainchecks for the guys who had already paid. Then shortly afterword my boss Tony came from off the course and told me to close the course since it was unplayable. So once we had the rest of the guys from the league leave we closed up the course for the night at about 6:30.

Today I came into work at one o’clock like usual on Saturday and when I came in I was told we had a rather slow morning not having a whole lot of open play. When looking at the tee sheet we only had about a dozen or so of tee times for the whole morning. The slow day continued for the majority of the afternoon only having a few groups come in between two o’clock and five o’clock. So since it was a rather slow day I was able to send our bartender home earlier than usual, having her clock out at a quarter until five o’clock. Other than the few people who did come in today, I did have a decent amount of phone calls of people who wanted to make tee times for either Sunday or early next week. The last group of people that we had come out was a threesome who came out at 5:30 to play just nine holes. So by about 7:30 they came in from their round and put their carts away and I was then able to close up the course for the night.
Today we had our 4th annual Valley View Golf Outing and they had a shot gun start at ten o’clock in the morning off of our blue and white courses. This outing had twenty-two teams in it and we had a steak dinner prepared for the participants after they finished their round of golf. So when I came in at two o’clock we were pretty busy taking care of the forty-four carts that all came in at once. Once we got all of our carts organized, I had the cart attendant leave fifteen carts up for the rest of the afternoon. For the rest of the day we had rather scattered business, having a few people come in here and there until about 6:30. The last group that came out to play was a two some that plays pretty fast at a little bit past 6:30. The twosome ended up taking under an hour and a half, coming in at about ten till eight o’clock. I also went and got the sponsorship signs from the outing in the morning at the end of the day that were out on the course. So by about eight o’clock I was able to clock out and close up the course for the night.
Today I came into work at one o’clock once again like usual for my shift on the weekend and we had a good day of business in the morning. We had several foursomes and threesomes on the tee sheet in the morning, having it completely filled up between nine o’clock until almost eleven o’clock. So when I came into work I had to manage people making the turn and usually what I do is on a day like today, having a constant flow of golfers coming in off of one course, I will split it up and have one group turn to our white course and the next to our red. This helps space out the traffic on the course and means less waiting for people since there is not as many people on one nine. Now for the remainder of the afternoon we had a decent amount of business and I had several phone calls for people wanting to make a tee time for sometime in the next week. So today was a good day for business and it was after nine o’clock when the last group came in for the night and I was able to close up for the night.
Today I came into work at one o’clock like usual on the weekend and when I came in the course was very quiet, the man working the morning shift told me that there were only six groups on the course. It was kind of overcast and windy all day, so that is what most likely scared people off and not wanting to golf. I had very little open play today only getting a couple of groups come out between five and six o’clock, they might have been coming out to golf after work. Other than that I made several tee times for either Sunday or sometime during the week, which was the most business that I had for the day. Then after the few groups that came out for the day came in, I was able to close up the course for the night.
Today I came in at two o’clock and we had a decent amount of business between two and four o’clock. We had a few groups come out this afternoon, but today we had a good amount of business from a golf outing that was set to tee off at five o’clock having a shotgun start. So I had to make sure that we had twenty-six carts ready to go for the outing, lined up and clean for the thirteen teams. We had 52 people play in the outing and they only played on the blue course, just doing nine holes since they started at five o’clock. They also had two proximities out on four blue and two blue for a little bit of competition. Other than having the outing out on our blue course we had a decent amount of open play having a few groups come out willing to play out on our white and red courses. Then once the outing finished up by about 7:30 in the evening we had only one other group on the course, a threesome. So I had our cart attendant put all of our carts away and I began to close up for the night. Then once the last group came in for the evening by about eight o’clock I was able to close up for the night
Today I came in for my shift at three o’clock on Wednesday and today is a rather busy day, having our VFW league tonight. For the league tonight we had them go out onto our blue and white courses and they teed off at four o’clock like usual. So between 3:30 and 4:30 things got very busy for me behind the register, having groups come in bunches today. For the next hour I either had no one in the pro shop or I had ten people waiting to be served and be able to play. We had 38 of our 40 teams show up today for the league tonight, having the last group go out fairly late at a quarter past five. After all of the league went out we had a few people come in for open play, which I was able to send them out to our red course, the latest group coming out at 6:30. Then after that things were pretty quiet except for guys coming in from the league. After all the guys were in from the league the course was very quiet for the rest of the night and by 8:30 I was able to close up the course for the night.
Today I came into work at one o’clock like usual on the weekend and we had the two-man scramble today for our members. We had fourteen teams participate in the event having 28 of our members in total play. They had a shotgun start at ten o’clock in the morning going off of our blue and white courses, saving our red course for open play. The members ended up finishing at around two thirty in the afternoon and I had to assist in posting scores to help determine winners of the event. Then once the winners were announced I added their winnings to each person’s account for our golf course. We ended up having a tie for third place, so they split the winnings and I had to add money to eight of our members accounts. Then after the outing came in, we had a decent amount of open play, and today we had an average amount of open play for the remainder of the day. Then once the last group came in at about eight o’clock I was able to close up for the night.
Today I came into work at two o’clock like usual for Friday closing shifts and we had a pretty busy morning, but by the time I came into work things had quieted down very much. Today things were very quiet on the course, with myself only serving less than ten people all day. We had a foursome come out around three o’clock to play eighteen and then we had a couple of twosomes come out between four and five o’clock and that was about it for open play that day. Other than the little bit of open play we had today we had a good amount of phone calls for people who wanted to make a tee time for tomorrow morning or for Sunday. So by about seven o’clock the last group came in for the night and I was able to close up shop.
Today I came in at three o’clock and today being a Wednesday we had our VFW League and our Knights of Columbus League. Both of our leagues go off together at four o’clock, going off of two of our nine hole courses. Today we had the league going off of our blue and white courses, playing nine holes. We had 72 of our potential 80 league participants show up today for the league night, with just a couple of teams that were unable to come because of work or something else going on in their lives. So between three and five o’clock we were very busy with people coming in for league and we also had a group come out that was not here for the league, just open play, so they had to go out onto our red course. After everyone on the league went out we had a little bit of open play for the rest of the evening. We mostly had people calling in to make tee times for the next upcoming couple of days. After all the leagues came in for the night there was not very many people left on the course and then once the last couple of groups came in I was able to close up at about 8:30 for the night.
