Today I was working a Tuesday night, picking up an extra shift for a co-worker and it was a league night. Tonight we had two leagues, the Gibsonburg League and the IAC league. The Gibsonburg league has sixty people who participate in the league and they play on two of our three nine hole courses. The IAC has twenty people who usually play every week and the play the other nine-hole course that the Gibsonburg League is not playing on. Tonight we had the Gibsonburg League was on our red and blue course and the IAC League was on the white course. For the Gibsonburg League we had twenty-eight teams show up this week and for the IAC League we had seven out of the ten teams show up for the league this week. Both leagues tee off at 4:00 and usually by about five o’clock all the leagues have teed off and are out playing. Other than having leagues we did not have hardly any open play, having only about two or three people come out to golf. Then once the leagues came in for the night at about 6:45, I was able to close up for the night since no one was on the course.

Today I came in an hour earlier than usual, my boss wanted me to come in at noon instead of one o’clock. Again today, like Friday, we had very little business throughout the day, although that was most likely due to the fact that we had a good chance of thunderstorms by six o’clock. Then by about 5:30 or six o’clock we ended up getting some thunderstorms that hit us. I ended up closing up the course at about seven o’clock since everyone had come in at that point and the radar was not looking very promising for the rain to let up, so I decided to start closing up and was done by about 6:30.
Today I came in at 2 o’clock and when I first came in, we had a large group of 27 people golfing eighteen, and a few other foursomes and singles players on the course. So shortly after I arrived for work the group of 27 all started to finish their round. I then had to manage both the pro shop and manage the carts as well for an hour since our cart attendant did not come in to work until 3 o’clock. We did not get too much business for the remainder of the afternoon and evening, just a few other groups that came out here and there. We had a few guys that showed up somewhat late, so I ended up closing the course at about 8 o’clock when they came in. So I cleaned the men’s room, cashed out the registers and locked up for the night.
When I first came into work, it was looking like it was going to rain sometime in the afternoon, so my boss had called and told the cart attendant to not come in to work, then he had also told the bartender to go home. So for the day it was only myself working from one o’clock to close. Things remained pretty quiet for the first couple of hours only having a threesome and a couple of single players. Then around three o’clock we had a short period of rain, and it absolutely poured for about twenty minutes. After that the sun came out and we began to see a fair amount of play come in for the rest of the day. So for me managing everything for the day it kept me pretty busy for the rest of the day and by about 8:30 we had our final foursome finish play and I was then able to close up for the night.
Today was a very slow day, only sold golf to one person while I was working today. It was rather cold and raining which would easily be the main reason why we did not see much play. Had a man come out and I re-gripped ten of his clubs for him, being his driver, two woods, six irons and his sand wedge for him. Also had a man come in who was interested in buying a new Odyssey putter and a Titleist golf bag. He ended up leaving his contact information for a later date to discuss ordering more custom made apparel. I ended up assisting the man in purchasing a pair of shoes and a putter and he was still interested in getting a golf bag. Other than that we had practically an empty golf course and I was able to close up the course early due to very bad weather in the area.
Today when I came to work at one o’clock in the afternoon, we had a fair amount of play in the morning and that did not change too much throughout the rest of the day. Between two and four in the afternoon we had six foursomes come out and in total had approximately twelve to fifteen groups come out during this time period. Today I also sold two hats, four sleeves of golf balls and a bag of tees from the pro-shop. Also assisted both the person running the bar and the person managing the carts when needed in order to keep things running smoothly on the course. Then I ended up closing up much later than the other days than what I have worked before, making it a good day for business.
For my second day of my internship, it was rather cold and very windy out on the course. At this point the course was for the most part dried out and we had mowed the fairways today so the course looked really nice. Today we had all three of our nine hole courses open so this really made the course feel like it was empty. Today we had around ten to fifteen customers come in during my shift which was two o’clock to close. I also made a few tee times for people who called in for either the following day or for sometime next week. Ended up closing fairly early due to limited play and locked up everything like I usually do.
My first day of work was overall quite slow since it was still quite cold and rainy. I was supposed to start my internship on the fifth of May, but due to all the rain we had earlier in the week the course was flooded in some areas and we decided that it was best to not open until Sunday. So even on my first day of my internship, it was still raining but not as bad as it was earlier in the week. The course was no longer flooded, but was still very soft out there, so we only had two of our three nines open. Today we had less than ten people come out to golf when I came in for my shift at one o’clock. The most business I had today was when a man came in paid for 18 holes of golf and I helped assist him in purchasing a new pair of golf shoes from our pro-shop. Then after all the carts came in for the night, I closed up the pro-shop, cart basement and banquet hall.
