Organization Profile
Overview:
Sycamore Hills Golf Club was founded in 1964 by brothers Doug and Wayne Michael. The course originally started as just a small, nine hole golf course and it was not until 1967 that they purchased more property and added another nine holes to make the course a complete 18 hole golf course. Then later on in 1994, Sycamore bought more land and added an additional nine hole course, to give the course of a total of 27 holes. Sycamore Hills Golf Club has been owned by the same family for over fifty years now and are very family oriented. The golf course has had 115 holes in one that have been recorded since the course opened in 1964. Our record low score for the golf course for an 18 hole round on our blue and white course is 60. Our record low scores for each individual nine hole course are for Blue: 29, White: 30 and Red: 30. Sycamore Hills is a place that people can come out and have a great time, both enjoying our challenging golf course and to have fun with the people they meet here. Our goal is to ensure that anyone who comes to our establishment, that they will not only enjoy our challenging golf course, but to also like the people here and feel like they are a part of the family.
Goals and Structure:
As stated above, our main objective is to provide our customers with a quality golf course that is fun and challenging for them to play and to make them feel like they are a part of the family when they come here. Sycamore Hills Golf Club wants people to feel like they have been taken care of when they come out to golf, whether it is for a golf outing, league or just open play. We try to keep our prices as economical as possible and when someone comes to us and wants to have an outing or make a league, we will help them in any way that we can to make sure that they are more than satisfied with the structure of the event. Now as for our positions of power or ranks of employment go, it is rather simple system. We have three owners and they are the Golf Director, Superintendent and Head of Catering. Together they run and operate the golf course, overseeing that jobs are getting done and employees are taking care of people in a professional manner. My main boss is the Golf Director and he hires everyone who works as an assistant manager or cart attendant. The Superintendent hires everyone who works on the course or groundskeepers. Our Head of Catering hires our bartenders to serve people food and beverages. The structure of power goes for managing the business as, Golf Director then Assistant Manager, then bartender and cart attendant.
